High-End Podcast Video Production in San Francisco for The CEO of Instagram
When working with software companies and tech brands, I’ve learned that great video production takes way more than just showing up with a camera. It’s about capturing a story and making the entire experience seamless for the client. That’s exactly what we set out to do when Brock Johnson came to us with a dream interview opportunity: a podcast session with Adam Mosseri, CEO of Instagram, filmed inside the Facebook offices in San Francisco.
The creative Goal: A Professional Podcast Setup
Brock is a Utah-based creator and podcast host popular on social media. He has built a following over the years via Instagram and was flying into the Bay Area for this high-stakes interview. Interestingly enough, he first reached out to my company after finding us on Instagram search!
His vision? To create a visually dynamic, three-camera setup with crystal-clear audio. It was clear we wasn’t brining his content team to the Bay Area, so he needed a local production team he could trust to handle everything on the ground.
This wasn’t just another podcast episode. This was a chance to connect with one of the biggest names in tech. Understandably, Brock wanted everything to be perfect.
Our Approach: Full-Service support
We started by getting a clear understanding of Brock’s goals and expectations for the shoot. With video podcasts in high-profile corporate environments, it’s important to know that attention to detail is everything.
Because Brock wasn’t local, it was essential that he felt supported from start to finish. I tapped into my trusted crew of Bay Area professionals to ensure we had the right talent on set. From experienced camera operators to skilled audio engineers, every person on the project brought a calm, collaborative energy that helped the day run smoothly.
We also made sure to handle all the pre-production logistics, including:
Coordinating building access and clearances through proper legal documentation (like COIs and I.D.s).
Confirming that all needed equipment (cameras, mics, lighting) was either on-site or brought in ahead of time.
Preparing the set in advance so we could hit the ground running the moment Adam Mosseri walked in.
Behind the Scenes during Set Up. Ensuring the eye-lines and audio were solid.
production day: Nerves & Framing
On the day of the shoot, the excitement was high. Brock shared that while he’d done plenty of podcast interviews before, this one felt different. It was a personal milestone—getting to sit down with someone whose platform helped shape his entire business.
Before the CEO arrived, we carefully dialed in lighting and camera angles using Brock’s wife as a stand-in. She was there supporting him throughout the day (and doubling as our MVP for setup!). These behind-the-scenes moments gave us time to connect with Brock more personally. We talked about snowboarding, shared our creative goals, and swapped stories about navigating entrepreneurship.
That connection helped Brock feel grounded heading into the interview and it reminded us why we do what we do: to make content creation feel easy, even when the stakes are high.
The Final Result: A 3-Camera Edit Built for Long & Short Form
The interview itself ran about 45 to 50 minutes, and we captured it all in beautiful, multi-angle footage. The content was produced not only for Brock’s podcast platform, but also optimized for repurposing into short-form clips for Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
This kind of versatile video production is what we love. Content that can live and breathe across platforms, designed to meet both brand goals and audience preferences.
